God's Promises for Women of Faith by Jack Countryman

God's Promises for Women of Faith by Jack Countryman is a wonderful book. I will start with the cover of this book. I absolutely love it! It's very lovely and eye catching. The best part of this book though is the fact that it is full of scriptures. There are many different topics, so I really appreciated that. I love seeing scriptures categorized like this because I can reference them later at any time. It is wonderful for when you're feeling down and you really need a lift. It's great to be able to reference this book at those times. This book knows exactly which scriptures will speak to you at that very moment depending on how you're feeling that day. I also really like there are pages provides for prayer requests, so it can definitely be used as a journal as well. Another great thing about this book is the fact that its small in size, so I can carry it around with me during the day. I love being able to reference this book at any time during the day and even write down my thoughts and prayer requests in those extra blank pages that are provided. God's Promises for Women of Faith was a gift from Thomas Nelson Publishers.

Let's Do Lunch: Eating all the Calories and Carbs you want to lose weight! by Roger Troy Wilson

Let's Do Lunch: Eating all the Calories and Carbs you want to lose weight! by Roger Troy Wilson is a fascinating perspective on dieting, complete with a great plan, and some great ideas! I love that the author shared his personal story as well. It was interesting to read about his experience and his perspective on dieting as well as healthy eating. The eating plan is structured and easy to understand. There is some life changing advice in this book in terms of eating healthy. Some of these ideas have certainly changed my mindset about eating and it is rare for that to happen to me. For example, one idea from the book suggests eating fruit because it eliminates sugar cravings and as someone who loves sweets. this has been extremely helpful for me. I really love that the book has such great advice on dealing with cravings because I've found that a lot of books don't really touch on that enough. Not only that, but there is a lot of information on dealing with specific cravings, and that has been very helpful. I really appreciate that the author provided so many delicious recipes as well. I have already tried three of them and I'm looking forward to trying more. I made the pizza soup, and it is absolutely delicious, and I am already losing weight! Let's Do Lunch was a gift from Thomas Nelson Publishers and I am thankful.

A Girl's Guide to Life by Katie Meier

I received a copy of A Girl's Guide to Life by Katie Meier from Thomas Nelson Publishers and I found it to be a great guide for young women. It touches on so many different subjects. From peer pressure to sex to even the subjects of text messaging and the internet! I especially love that the author really addresses how to be cautious when it comes to technology. So many young women use cell phones and the internet on a daily basis, so I think its really important to touch on this subject considering technology is a part of daily life for many people! It was nice to see this topic as well as many others. Such a broad range of topics. I feel like the tone of this book is definitely self respect and I absolutely love that because sometimes young women can forget how important that is with all the pressures of adolescence. Unfortunately it can be easy to lose sight of whats important: Self respect and respect for others. I really think that reading this guide will remind young women of what is important and empower them. This is a wonderful guide that I really believe in. I think it can definitely make a difference in a young woman's self esteem. This book has an incredible, powerful message. I wish there were more books like this one!

Mystically Wired: Exploring New Realms In Prayer by Ken Wilson

Mystically Wired: Exploring New Realms in Prayer has been very thought provoking for me. It was very new and interesting to see a book that touches on both religion and science and how they can actually work together in many ways. The first part of the book really digs deep into that and it definitely makes for a fascinating read. It is certainly interesting to think about. I very much enjoy reading books that really make me think and ask questions. This book does that. I also really enjoyed the fact that the author shared his own experiences. It was interesting to read about his journey and experience with prayer. The second part of the book really touches on the act of prayer itself and how prayer is instinctual. A strong instinct and not just another thing that has to be done in our busy lives. The book explains that we really need to dedicate our time to prayer and have it become instinctual for us, and not become distracted by everything else in our busy lives. Overall, this was an interesting book with some great insights. A very thought provoking read at the very least.
Mystically Wired: Exploring New Realms in Prayer was a gift from Thomas Nelson Publishers for which I am very grateful for.

Wild at Heart: Discovering the Secret of a Man's Soul by John Eldredge

I received a copy of this book from Thomas Nelson Publishers and I found it to be quite a fascinating read! This book not only speaks to men, but it speaks to women as well, and it really gave me a deep understanding of the heart of a man and the stereotypes that men really struggle with. Not just Christian men but all men. Very informative and thought provoking! This book has a wonderful message. I feel it really encourages men to be true to who they are while encouraging men to see themselves as they really are. Not only does this book give me a better understanding of men and provide insight into a man's heart, but it is also very nurturing and encouraging. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first started reading this book, but I am so glad I read it! Wild at Heart: Discovering the Secret of a Man's Soul is a very encouraging and inspiring read that both men and women can benefit from. It is truly a treasure. It has been such an interesting and enlightening read for me that I am definitely going to purchase many copies of this book for friends and family.

Mansfield Park by Jane Austen

I have mentioned this book before and I have finally found a copy. While this was a very compelling story, it was slow at first, but it was certainly worth the wait. I found the character of Fanny Price to be quite fascinating. I very much enjoy Austen's style of writing as I can really sense the characters and the many ways Fanny Price evolves as a character. Each character has such interesting qualities and that makes for a very compelling story. I enjoyed this book very much. Very interesting read!
